Mission
Our vision
To contribute to a thriving ethical music industry with well equipped and informed artists making sound decisions.
Our mission
To provide information and services that enable independent artists to thrive through making a career from their art.
Our goals
- Enable artists to be well informed and be able to fulfil their potential, and develop their careers as their skills and knowledge develop.
- Encourage artists to be strategic about giving away their music for promotion while maintaining their rights, selling their music online and champion anti-piracy.
- Support artists and the wider community by re-investing income into ethical, worthwhile organisations and artists.
Sure, these are great in theory but how will we strive to achieve these?
By listening to our members: we won't just provide lip service. We will genuinely work collaboratively with our members. This will be achieved by getting members making suggestions, being involved in decision making and service provision. We want the site to be a community where the members drive the site.
By being pro-active: we will continually pursue information and opportunities for our members, whether they are interviews and information, leads for song placements, grants and other funding opportunities, networking opportunities, member benefits such as discounts, competitions.
By educating members: through interviews with professionals across the industry, information sessions, blogs, links to resources, networking and other means.
By voicing concerns of our members: to representatives within industry and federal, state and local government and other stakeholders whose decisions influence member career opportunities and viability.
By reinvesting funds to the artists: via third parties such as the JB Seed, and directly through financial and in-kind support for members selected on merit.
